Not Ignorant, Just Unaware

As we discussed in the I love you chapter, generally speaking, a woman’s senses—her smell, her touch, her sight, her taste, and her hearing—are more acute than a man’s. This heightened acuity, coupled with the way a woman’s brain freely moves information from left to right, creates what is commonly known as “women’s intuition.” In our survey, wives shared their desire for their husbands to be more aware, more sensitive. Read these responses from our survey:

I wish he would be more sensitive to the situation at the moment.

I wish he would be more aware of the world around him.

I wish he would just know when I need to talk.

Ladies, we wish we did too. Life would be so much easier if we just knew when you needed to talk! The reality is that it is physiologically impossible for your husband to be as aware of his surroundings as you are of yours. The good news is that the first step to overcoming a problem is admitting you have one. So, we’ve identified an awareness gap. Now, what to do about it?
